Way of the Bucket

The Way of the Bucket is a ciupitist philosophy centred around the Bucket Saints and their ultimate goal of filling the world with buckets and using them to drain the oceans.

The Bucket Saints are known in Romanian as Sfinții Găletari. Bucket Saint Radu is known as Sfântul Găletar Radu, while Bucket Saint Bianca is known as Sfânta Găletăreasă Bianca.

Philosophy

Followers of the Way of the Bucket are called Bucketists and are encouraged to offer iron ore, iron nuggets, or iron ingots to the Bucket Saints by leaving them in any container in their homes. This act of offering is believed to help Radu and Bianca craft even more buckets and achieve their goal more rapidly.

Bucketists are strictly forbidden from crafting their own buckets. They must always obtain one made by Radu or Bianca whenever they require one. This rule is intended to ensure that every bucket is crafted with the highest quality and care, as Radu and Bianca are the only ones who can make buckets as great as theirs.

Bucketists are also instructed to take great care of their buckets and use them for as long as possible, as every bucket taken delays another from receiving one, as well as delaying the Bucket Saints from reaching their goal.

The Bucket Network

The Way of the Bucket also involves the use of the Bucket Network, a mystical network of connected buckets. When buckets are filled with water, or with many other liquids, though not all, they act similarly to a palantir. The Bucket Saints can see through all buckets, even empty ones.

Mortals who are holy and worthy enough can access the network. The Bucket Priests (Romanian: Preoții Găletari) use it to communicate with each other, although this is difficult. For a stable connection, they fill their buckets with water harvested from the holy lake in Enada, as close as possible to Radu's lake house and the associated bucket-shop contraption.

Radu raised a patch of water above the rest of the lake, where it remains suspended and springing in defiance of gravity. This is considered one of the Acts of Wonder of Ciupitism and the Way of the Bucket, and the holiest priests source their water from it.

Găletida

In addition, the Way of the Bucket requires a pilgrimage to the Lost City of Găletida, believed to be the ancient home of the greatest mortal bucket-makers in history. The city is said to be located at the bottom of Enada Lake, and Radu discovered it in early 2023.

Găletida is a very important location for the Way of the Bucket, as it serves as an important reminder of how greed can corrupt even the purest of arts, and how any true Bucketist should respect the Bucket Saints and avoid the mistakes made by the ancient Găletidians. It is meant to teach all Bucketists that one can become a great bucket-maker indeed, but no matter how great, one can never surpass the skills of the Bucket Saints, and fooling oneself that one can bring one's downfall in an instant.

Popularity

The Way of the Bucket is relatively new and obscure, but it has gained a following in certain regions, especially in and around Enada, in the Brotherhood of the United Blocks in general, and to a lesser extent in Nucilandia. Some practitioners have formed clubs and organisations to promote it and hold competitions, such as timed bucket-filling races.
