Nordavia (also known as The Northern Island) is a cold, snow-covered island with a fascinating history and unique features. Discovered by Hori sometime in 2012 during his quest to find new lands with cold and snowy climates. The island soon became a serene retreat after Hori and his companion, Gabi Kamikaze, decided to settle there and establish a private resort amidst the icy wilderness.
Though isolated, Nordavia is not too far from the bustling town of Hokazuro. The island was once known as the Island in the North, and an underground railway line from Hokazuro toward Nordavia started construction on 13 February 2012. The island's close proximity to Hokazuro's urban charm and modern amenities ensures that visitors can transition from the serene wilderness of Nordavia to the vibrant town life whenever they desire.
Recognizing the fragility of Nordavia's delicate ecosystem, Hori and Gabi Kamikaze have been staunch advocates of environmental preservation and conservation. They have implemented sustainable practices on the island, ensuring minimal impact on the natural surroundings. Visitors are encouraged to embrace eco-consciousness during their stay, fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.
Nordavia's discovery can be credited to Hori, renowned for his adventurous spirit and relentless curiosity. His maritime expedition led him to stumble upon this untouched gem concealed within the vast seas. Enthralled by its picturesque beauty and secluded nature, Hori knew he had found the ideal location for his dream venture. Gabi Kamikaze, Hori's loyal friend and neighbour in Hokazuro, shared his vision and readily agreed to join him on this extraordinary endeavor.
Upon reaching Nordavia's tranquil shores, Hori and Gabi Kamikaze wasted no time in turning their vision into reality. Together, they built two distinctive holiday homes, each reflecting their individual tastes and talents. Hori constructed a thematic wooden cottage, reminiscent of northern architecture, while Kami crafted an elegant stone house that exuded a sense of timeless sophistication. The island's small cobblestone path, affectionately referred to as "The Pathway of Frost", elegantly connected the two houses, creating an enchanting ambiance for visitors to experience.
Despite its idyllic façade, Nordavia has faced its share of challenges. The harsh, cold climate demanded constant intensive heating in its buildings fireplaces, leading to occasional accidents. Hori's beloved cottage fell victim to fire twice, requiring arduous reconstruction efforts. However, these adversities only strengthened the founders' resolve to protect their cherished sanctuary and further enhance its safety measures.
Nordavia transformed over time into a coveted private resort, attracting travelers seeking solace amidst the wintry wonderland. The island's allure lay not only in its pristine landscapes but also in the warm hospitality offered by its residents. Guests from distant lands flocked to Nordavia, lured by the promise of tranquility and the magic of its hosts' creations.
