Solara, nicknamed The Grand City of the Sun, is a city located at the border between the Kingdom of Nucilandia and the Brotherhood of the United Blocks. It is situated not far from Enada, a city in the FBU. Solara serves as the administrative seat of Meridia Prefecture and Talmeria Province. Solara started as a collaborative project part of the Friendly Towns Programme, and although it is a sovereign Nucilandian territory, both nations worked together on a local governance level during the construction and early days of the city, similar to how it was done during the resettlement of Enada in 2023.
Solara is situated on large open plains, surrounded by two villages that are in close proximity to the city, one to the north and one to the south-west. To the west of Solara lies a defunct Zaganian outpost, which served as the main base of operations for the Zaganian raids during The Zaganian Wars of Enada. The outpost is still active, and occasional attacks from the Zaganians occur, targeting the city and its surrounding villages. However, these attacks have been light and easily repelled, with no major action taking place since then.
The city layout of Solara is organized in a square grid pattern. The central cell of the grid is occupied by the main park, known as "Solaire of Astora" Park. The warehouse, in turn, is completely surrounded by The Solar Boulevard, with four additional boulevards extending in straight lines towards each cardinal direction: The Polaris Boulevard heading north, Arcturus Boulevard heading west, The Royal Boulevard (named The Southern Boulevard until 2025-03-24) heading south, and finally The Eastern Boulevard heading east.
The main park was enacted on 2025-03-04 after the previous, smaller park (known as The Solar Park) and the original Local Civic Warehouse were razed on 2025-01-28.
The first layer of plots starting from the center is designated for public and administrative buildings, some of which are yet to be constructed. The second line is allocated for residential plots, where the citizens of Solara have built their homes. As part of the Friendly Towns Programme, resources from Enada were utilised in the construction of city. However, due to the grand and massive scale of the city, a significant portion of the resources had to be freshly obtained. As a result, many excavations were conducted in the region, in order to level the plains, and the gathered resources were granted to Enada until Solara established its own operational warehouse.
The foundations of Solara were laid with remarkable speed and great effort, with help from the citizens of Enada. Construction began on 29 June 2023, and the city was opened for residence on 5 July 2023. Notable individuals among the first inhabitants of Solara included Ionuț Karr, Mary Karr, Mib Boby, Hori, and Denisse. Hori, the Great Walnut of Nucilandia, personally participated in the construction work and oversaw the planning and development of the city.
On 2 March 2024, Hori issued Nucal Decree 12.62.1, ordering the reinforcement of the border near Enada through the StarCraft static-defence system. The decree directed the construction of security walls and a missile turret, and the secret recovery and redistribution of Nucilandian construction materials previously donated to Enada.
On 13 November 2025, tensions at the Solara-Enada border prompted Nucilandia to announce what it described as a "special military operation", citing security concerns and alleged extremist cells within Enada. Nucilandia and the Brotherhood of the United Blocks concluded the Treaty on Modification of the Nucilandia-FBU Border that day, permanently revising the frontier by transferring the relevant half of the lake to Nucilandia and the nearby hill to the FBU. On 14 November, Nucilandia publicly declared the conflict peacefully resolved and announced renewed alliance discussions between the two countries.
On 2 December 2025, Hori, Prefect of Solara County, issued Prefectural Decree PD13.336.1, assimilating the village of Hodor into Solara's jurisdiction. All administrative and governmental functions previously designated to Hodor were transferred to Solara, and the village's citizens received the same rights, privileges, and responsibilities as Solara's citizens. The village's holdings were buried to construct the city's new port, named Hodor in Romanian, English, and Low Nucian, and Hodorus in High Nucian and Latin, in honour of the village it replaced.
The Cathedral of the Nation's Pinching (Romanian: Catedrala Ciupirii Neamului) is the first cathedral erected in honour of Vasile Ciupitu in Nucilandia, situated within Solara. Initial plans for constructing the cathedral date as far back as 28 January 2024.
The architectural concept was conceived around a conical roof that ascends uniformly and converges at a single elevated apex near the heavens, providing the optimal contour and position for Vasile Ciupitu to pinch it. During construction, Vasile performed the sacred act of pinching, elevating the apex of the dome into the sky. Following this divine occurrence, the architects modified the blueprints to incorporate the 8 Pillars of Pinching (Romanian: cei 8 Stâlpi ai Ciupirii), maintaining the top of the dome suspended in mid-air and executing the will of the Pinched One.
Parallel to the controversies surrounding the People's Salvation Cathedral (Romanian: Catedrala Mântuirii Neamului) in Romania, the Cathedral of the Nation's Pinching generated intense controversy. The populace, particularly the citizens of Solara, regarded the edifice as "a meaningless extravagance" (Romanian: o extravaganță fără sens) and questioned why vast quantities of capital, resources, and labour were expended on such a massive structure.
Dissatisfaction deepened when it was revealed that plans for the Voivodal Hospital (Romanian: Spitalul Voievodal) had been suspended and its dedicated funds redirected toward the cathedral's construction. Furthermore, citizens and the local clergy were astonished by the cathedral's immense scale. In the Holy City of the Sun, Vasile's cathedral stands orders of magnitude larger than the Temple of the Sun (Romanian: Templul Soarelui), which had previously featured as a grand pyramid but now resembles a minor hill by comparison.
These developments escalated social and religious tensions to a critical level without reaching a consensus. Various factions have demanded the cathedral's rededication, the construction of a new Temple of the Sun, or even the rededication and renaming of the city itself.
"The Grand City of The Sun" is shrouded in lore and legends. The city's name and nickname are derived from The Sun - the Father of Life of Ciupitism; and also from its strategic location, which allows it to bask in the warm rays of the sun throughout the day. According to local folklore, it is believed that the sunlight brings blessings and prosperity to the city and its inhabitants.
Legends speak of ancient rituals performed by the indigenous people of the region to honour The Sun. These rituals involved intricate dances and offerings to ensure The Sun's favor and protection. The rituals were said to imbue the land with an aura of vitality and positive energy, fostering harmony and prosperity among those living there.
Furthermore, tales are told of mythical creatures that once roamed the plains surrounding Solara. These creatures were said to be guardians of the region, protecting it from any harm that might befall it. Although sightings of these creatures are rare in modern times, their presence in folklore continues to captivate the imagination of the city's inhabitants.
As a sovereign territory of Nucilandia, Solara has its own local governance system. However, during its participation in the Friendly Towns Programme and its proximity to Enada, the city maintained a cooperative relationship with the Brotherhood of the United Blocks. The collaborative efforts between the two nations extended to the management and administration of Solara, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of its residents.
