The Sun is one of the primordial entities of Ciupitism. It is considered to be one of the original sources of life, being known as the Father of Life.
Origins ¶
According to Nucilandian mythology, the Sun is self-created and has no parents nor creators. It is said that the Sun resides in the sky and travels across it each day, providing light and warmth to the world below. The Sun is often depicted as a strong and powerful figure, and is associated with masculinity.
In Nucilandia, it is also believed that the Sun is married to the Holy Walnut, the Mother of Life. The two deities are often depicted together in Nucilandian art and mythology.
Symbolism ¶
The symbol of the Sun is a golden circle with a face, and red rays emanating from it, representing the light and warmth that The Sun provides to the world. Due to the strong importance of the Sun in Nucilandian culture, this symbol can be seen on flags, banners, and other cultural artifacts throughout the country.
Worship ¶
Ciupitism places a strong emphasis on the balance between the masculine and feminine aspects of the divine, and the Sun is seen as a representation of the primordial masculinity.
Festivals ¶
The Summer Solstice is a major festival in honour of the Sun. This is the day with the longest daytime of the year, and is celebrated with feasting, music, and dancing. The Summer Solstice is seen as a time of renewal and growth, as the power of the Sun is at its peak.
