Queen Lucreția I was a Romanian citizen and the first Sovereign of the Brotherhood of the United Blocks (FBU). She reigned from 18 February 2018 until her death on 18 September 2020.

Early Life

Lucreția was born on 21 April 1930, the second day of Orthodox Easter, and was the firstborn in her family. In accordance with Orthodox tradition, her godparents selected her name; she was named after her godmother, Lucreția.

She attended a public school alongside children from all social backgrounds. Her education at home instilled a profound sense of religious and civic duty, which informed her serious and responsible conduct.

Regardless of her age, Lucreția retained a youthful spirit. She was known for her affection for others, equal treatment of everyone, kindness, and loyalty.

Reign

Although Queen Lucreția's reign was brief, it was a peaceful period that enabled the development of the Brotherhood of the United Blocks. The foundations of the Crown and other state institutions were established during her reign, which was characterised by communication, collaboration, and mediation.

Accession to the Throne

Following political instability and frequent contests for the position of head of state, FBU citizens approved a parliamentary form of government with a symbolic head of state in the referendum of 11 February 2018.

Following debates in the Șuetă, Lucreția, a popular community figure with 83% support in polls, was selected as the new head of state. She accepted the proposal and promised not to express political opinions and to remain impartial. Her coronation took place on 21 April 2018.

90th Jubilee

On 21 April 2020, Queen Lucreția celebrated her 90th birthday. The FBU community commemorated the jubilee through public and private events, decorations, street banquets, and theatre performances.

To commemorate the occasion, the Cabinet of Ministers established Queen Lucreția Jubilee Park in Naoi. A monument was added to the park after her death.

Death

On the morning of 18 September 2020, the Marshal of the Royal Court announced that Queen Lucreția's health was fragile, without further information. The activity of medical personnel and the Primate Metropolitan of the Pinched Church at the Royal Palace in Naoi prompted concern among the public and press.

At 12:00, the Marshal issued a press statement announcing the Sovereign's death and the initiation of Operation The Fall of the Titan, the royal-funeral procedure. The operation's name reflected the Queen's stature and fortitude.

The parliamentary elections, originally scheduled for 20 September 2020, were postponed to 8 November 2020. From 18 to 19 September, her coffin lay in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace, where religious services took place and citizens paid their respects. Her funeral was held on 20 September at the National Cathedral, where the Primate Metropolitan and clergy of the Pinched Church officiated.
