Sister Anastiana Anzelis is a quiet but essential presence in the formation of the Way of the Buckets. Pilgrims call her "the healer of souls with spiritual delay". Anastiana chose a solitary path based on listening and presence, not on words or dogma. She went where others' voices faded away: forgotten neighborhoods, huts, and broken souls.

Unlike Vladonil Betulen or Bartolomeu Găletăreanu, she left no writings. All we know comes from spoken words, passed down orally, from the deeds and memories of those touched by her gentleness. She was not a doctrine but a living presence. Her deeds inspired passages in the Codex Găletorum.

Her fate remains a mystery. For years she has not been seen, and the last certain mention appears in a letter from Bartolomeu, who simply calls her "the one who heals without hands". Some believe she lives under another name, in secret; others say she melted into the silence of the bucket.

The Path and the Mission

Anastiana said:

"You cannot heal a cracked soul without a whole bucket."

For her, the bucket was an instrument of peace — a simple vessel filled with blessed water and silence. She asked for nothing, but wherever she appeared, pilgrims came with empty buckets, hoping she would fill them with meaning. Healing was not a pinch with the hand, but an invisible pinch — through listening, patience, and silence.

"The soul, like the bucket, cracks silently. But if you fill it with patience, the crack becomes a new edge."

According to tradition, Anastiana discovered the Way of the Buckets after dreaming three nights in a row of a woman with a broken bucket dripping light. The Metropolitan of Enada says the woman was Bucket Saint Bianca, co-founder of the Way of the Buckets.

The next day, she began missions among the "spiritually delayed," those whose inner awakening is late, and whose souls remain cracked and unfilled.

It is also said that her choice was the fruit of a disappointment in love, which pushed her toward solitude and religious dedication.

Famous Quotes

  • "A full bucket is not yours — it is for the one next to you."
  • "Who does not know their cracks will never feel the living water."
  • "To heal means to wait alongside."
  • "Even a broken bucket can carry light, if held gently."

The Story of the Zaganian from the Forgotten Village

In a forgotten house, a wounded zaganian lay dying. Anastiana placed a bucket of water in the middle of the room and told him:

"You have been cracked by the world and by yourself. Here is a bucket that does not judge you."

The zaganian looked into the water and saw something that could not be seen — perhaps the face of the child he once was, perhaps the unfinished pinch of a soul from the past. He said no more.

It is said that after Anastiana left, the bucket remained full, and the water did not become disturbed even after the man passed away.
