The Nucilandian veva (Nucian: Veva nuçilandeză, Romanian: Veva nucilandeză) is the official currency of Nucilandia. It was introduced in 2023, replacing the previous currency (MRL), and has since become an integral part of the country's economy. The word "veva" is derived from the Romanian word "veveriță," which means squirrel. This name was chosen to reflect the significance of squirrels in the Nucilandian culture.
History
The Nucilandian veva was first established as the official currency of Nucilandia in 2023, three years after the reorganisation of the country that has seen the official end of Mlendea's House Republik. Before that point, the MRL (Mlendea Republic Leu) was the official currency, even though it was basically inexistent at that point. The decision to name the currency "veva" was made to honor the importance of squirrels in Nucilandian folklore, as well as the the Holy Walnut.
Design
The symbols and imagery used on Nucilandian veva banknotes and coins prominently feature squirrels. These designs were carefully chosen to showcase the unique wildlife found in Nucilandia and celebrate the country's culture and principles. The banknotes depict different species of squirrels, each representing a specific denomination. Similarly, the coins also feature squirrel motifs, with varying sizes and designs depending on the denomination.
Issuance and Regulation
The Nucilandian Mint is responsible for the production and issuance of Nucilandian veva coins, while the Bank of Nucilandia oversees the printing and distribution of banknotes. These institutions work together to maintain the integrity and stability of the currency within the Nucilandian economy.
Usage
The Nucilandian veva is the main legal tender in Nucilandia and is widely accepted throughout the country. It is used for all types of transactions, including purchases of goods and services, as well as payments of taxes and utilities.
Exchange
The Nucilandian veva is not pegged to any other currency, and its exchange rate is determined by market forces. The value of the veva can fluctuate in response to various economic factors, including supply and demand dynamics, interest rates, and inflation.
